CAS Announces Timeline for Final Ruling in AFCON 2025 Final Appeal
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) issued a procedural update today, Monday 19 October 2026, from its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland. It concerns the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) over the AFCON 2025 final.
Deliberations are ongoing
According to the statement, the hearing took place behind closed doors at CAS headquarters on Thursday 8 October 2026. The Panel has begun its deliberations and is continuing them.
A full award, not a short ruling
The arbitrators decided to issue a complete ruling that includes the legal grounds, known as a CAS Award. This process will take several weeks, with the Award expected at the end of November 2026.
Only official source
CAS stressed that only information provided through its own channels is considered official, and that any announcement on this case will be published on the CAS website. Unverified reports should be treated with caution until the ruling is issued.
Bottom line
No decision has been made yet. Fans will need to wait until the end of November for the reasoned ruling.
